Workshop

Noah Mazé - Chicago, Illinois
April 13 2019

Join Noah Mazé for one day of yoga practice in Chicago in April.  This day of asana is for students of yoga who want to explore postures in a meaningful, refined, methodical way and learn practical strategies for building strength, flexibility and focus. We provide the attention you need to help you achieve your personal goals in your physical practice. Morning asana sessions tend to be upbeat, with an emphasis on standing postures, backbends, arm balances and vinyasa flow. We turn inward as the sun wanes to forward bends, inversions and restorative postures. At lunch or break times you explore the city and all of its diversity of food and culture. Because of the progressive nature of longer practice sessions with specific focal points, attendance at all sessions is suggested. In special cases, partial attendance may be possible. You will leave with a deeper, more expansive practice, and know how best to grow in the context of your own limits and boundaries.

This intensive style yoga weekend includes the following sessions:

Core Power

This class will strengthen your deep core stabilizers as well as your more global core muscles as we circumambulate 360 degrees around your torso and pelvis with strengthening poses and drills. We begin with the pelvic floor and transverse abdominus, into supine core strengtheners and hip openers, boat pose and plank pose variations, inner thigh strengtheners, outer hip stabilizers, back strengthening poses and culminating arm balances. Activate your core and give your shoulders some bonus strengthening! All levels; come ready to work hard and have fun.

Project Inversion

This progressively sequenced class will feature handstand, forearm balance, headstand and shoulder stand. Each inversion will have careful and specific preparation, attention to detail, and stages will be given for all levels of yogis. Whether you are an inversion pro, or desire to learn how to do these powerful and graceful poses, there will be much for you to learn and practice.
