Noah Mazé - Stratton, VT
June 20-21 2019

Join Noah Mazé for 2 days of The Mazé Method workshops in Stratton, VT this June 2019!

This weekend includes the following sessions with Noah June 20-21, 2019:

Crack the Code, Backbending Immersion

This session will deepen your pose knowledge, applied anatomy and kinesiology, sequencing strategies and expand your practice of backbending postures. The first 45 minutes is dedicated to Noah’s signature approach to deconstructing poses and analyzing what is occurring at the anatomical level; joints, muscular actions, difficulties, misalignments and necessary key actions. The remainder of the session (2+ hours) is asana based to embody the “theory” in an intermediate/advanced backbend workshop focusing on postures and actions that open the front chain of the body and strengthen the back chain. Through an in depth exploration of the balance of strength and mobility required in each body region, we will work intelligently to move safely through fundamental backbends into intermediate backbends; such as Urdhva Dhanurasana, Laghu Vajrasana, Kapotasana, Dwi Pada Viparita Dandasana. Bring a notebook, yoga props (two blocks, a blanket and a strap) and come ready to learn, work hard and have fun.

Cranes and Roosters

Got core? Strengthen your core and shoulders and open your hips to launch into the grace and power of hand-balancing postures. Expect some strong vinyasa flow (twenty to thirty minutes) to build heat and plenty of steady and focused hatha-style work (sixty minutes) to launch into Bakansana (Crane Posture) cycle, Kukkutasana (Rooster Posture) cycle, and inversions. Expect clear instructions, step-by-step sequencing, hard work and lots of fun. Participants should have a regular practice of handstand and headstand, and be able to push their boundary with discernment. Please bring a towel and hydration.

Equanimous Disequilibrium

This vinyasa flow class varies the tempo of movement and linked poses even while it anchors you in balancing poses to create (and challenge) your equilibrium. Learn to be equanimous in the eye of the tornado as the world rages on around you.

About Workshops with Noah Mazé

Noah teaches yoga workshops all over the world. This program is for dedicated yoga students who want to take some extra time to explore postures in a meaningful, refined, methodical way and learn practical strategies for building strength, flexibility and focus. Noah will provide the attention you need to help you achieve your personal goals in your physical yoga/asana practice.

Morning asana sessions tend to be upbeat, with an emphasis on standing postures, backbends, arm balances and/or vinyasa flow. We turn inward as the sun wanes to forward bends, inversions and restorative postures. Students can expect to leave this program with a deeper, more expansive practice, and know how best to grow your yoga practice in the context of her/his own limits and boundaries.
