Evolution 2019 Asia Yoga Conference

Noah Mazé - Wan Chai, Hong Kong
June 13-15 2019

Join Noah Mazé for 3 days of The Mazé Method workshops in Hong Kong at Evolution 2019, Asia Yoga Conference.

This weekend includes top of the line teachers from around the world, including the following sessions with Noah June 13-15, 2019:

Lotus Rising

The lotus is a rich symbol of beauty and spiritual unfolding. Come and unfold and unfold your legs and hips, and free your lower back, in this deep journey of hip openers, forward bends, twists and meditation. This step-by-step sequence will pay plenty of attention to building strength as we appropriately open the hips on all sides. Appropriate for all levels of yogis; come ready to go deep.

Resiliency (twists, sidebending, backbending)

Cultivate resiliency in your body and spirit in this workshop focusing on twists, side bending and back bending postures and actions. You will be deeply nourished as you learn to bend with appropriate tensile strength as you stablise and mobilise your spine, pelvis and hips. This workshop will feature step-by-step sequencing, clear instructions, attention to alignment and stages appropriate for all yogis of all levels.

Liquid Strength

This well-rounded vinyasa flow class will heat you up just to the point of liquefaction. Beginning with opening poses and pranayama, we will progress into sun salutations, linked standing pose flows, build core and shoulder strength in basic arm balances, turn in with forward folds and round it all out with some basic backbends. This all levels workshop is not about fancy trick poses, but rather maintaining focus and alignment within the fluidity of movement and the rhythm of your breath through all poses and transitions.

Illuminating Alignment

Every pose is in its optimal state when it can be embodied with equal parts of stability and ease (sthira / sukha), but all to often we get bogged down with contradictory alignment cues and actions that leave us overwhelmed and confused, both physically and mentally. In this compelling workshop, through lecture, prop work, and experiential learning, Noah will offer a powerful and logical, step-by-step process for understanding, practicing and teaching optimal asana alignment. This session is geared toward dedicated students and yoga teachers eager to understand more fully the applications of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics behind asana alignment, sequencing strategies and pose improvement.

Project Inversion

Got core? Strengthen your core and shoulders and open your hips to launch into the grace and power of hand-balancing postures. Expect some strong vinyasa flow (twenty to thirty minutes) to build heat and plenty of steady and focused hatha-style work (sixty minutes) to launch into Bakansana (Crane Posture) cycle, Kukkutasana (Rooster Posture) cycle, and inversions. Expect clear instructions, step-by-step sequencing, hard work and lots of fun. Participants should have a regular practice of handstand and headstand, and be able to push their boundary with discernment. Please bring a towel and hydration.

About Workshops with Noah Mazé

Noah teaches yoga workshops all over the world. This program is for dedicated yoga students who want to take some extra time to explore postures in a meaningful, refined, methodical way and learn practical strategies for building strength, flexibility and focus. Noah will provide the attention you need to help you achieve your personal goals in your physical yoga/asana practice.

Morning asana sessions tend to be upbeat, with an emphasis on standing postures, backbends, arm balances and/or vinyasa flow. We turn inward as the sun wanes to forward bends, inversions and restorative postures. Students can expect to leave this program with a deeper, more expansive practice, and know how best to grow your yoga practice in the context of her/his own limits and boundaries.
